A
taste of what you can expect from an adventure with
Amos . . . in his own words:
Great
White Shark - The Everest of Diving Experiences
|
With only ten
guests on this highly charged adventure, you
will be spending as much time as you like in
the water with the APEX predator, This is my
signature of service. We have three super
cages. Two are for surface viewing and one
lowered every hour to 50 feet for the
ultimate view from below.
Would you like to encounter a legend - the
Great White Shark - or to experience the
Everest of all diving adventures? On this
expedition I offer you the chance of a
lifetime to see one of the Great animals of
the sea close up, and I’ll coach you as make
photographs you’ll always remember. The
Great White has been referred to as a
ruthless predator, but we’ll get the real
story when you have a Big Animals encounter
from the safety of the diving cage, and for
some there is the possibility of an
encounter outside of the cage, face to face
with this Ocean Giant. Our timing is perfect
for this weeklong adventure, but only four
spaces remain on each trip, so if you’re
really interested in going, I recommend that
you don’t wait until the last moment.

Striped Marlins - The Spirit of Mexico
It’s at the center of the
book that won Hemingway his
Nobel. It’s a cliché on the
wall of every sportsman
lodge, a commonplace for
journeyman taxidermists, and
generally seen hanging
upside down, on a pier
somewhere, dwarfing the guy
grinning next to it, in
thousands of badly-taken
photographs around the
globe. We intend to show you
something very different.
Our goal is to wipe your
mind clean of what you
thought you knew about the
marlin, the ocean’s most
spectacular big game fish,
so you can come to
understand it on its own
terms.
On a dive
boat meant
for 24
divers, our
small group
of five will
venture out
to secret
remote sea
mounts where
striped
marlin
gather to
feed, and
where no
wannabe
“sportsmen”
will spoil
our hunt for
superb
images.
Flocking
frigate birds
will point
us to
schooling
mackerel,
where, down
below, a
phenomenal
feeding
frenzy
unfolds:
groups of
twelve or
more striped
marlin
attacking
mackerel
bait balls
with their
spear-like
bills, their
stripes
fluorescing
brilliantly
as they
thrash the
water and
take their
dazed prey
one at a
time.
Competing
for the
mackerel are
seals, sea
lions, and
the large
Bryde’s
whales (up
to 40 feet
long),
making for a
wild display
of
top-of-the-food-chain
predation.

Antarctica - The legendary Leopard Seal
|
This trip features a way to experience
Antarctica as only the TV team of the BBC
and National Geographic have seen it before,
aboard a live/dive vessel that I’ve
chartered for you, the 158-foot luxury
ice-class yacht Hanse Explorer. Some trip
operators may take fifty to a hundred people
to Antarctica at a time. But on this trip,
there are just twelve guests aboard and
three Zodiacs in operation providing an
almost private quality of diving and ice
exploration. With room to enjoy and really
to appreciate the solitude on Antarctica
and the onboard luxury and comfort and
incredible access to wildlife, this
Big Animals adventure is a photographer’s
dream trip. We’ll be focused on the feeding
behavior of the Leopard seal, scuba diving
along the cliff of an Icebergs, exploring
for arctic muck diving and we also be there
in prime time for the penguin hatchery just
as they’re headed for the water. At 17-18
days running this trip is longer than all
other voyages to this incredible region, and
it includes more than 12 days of diving.
With 20 hours of daylight every day, you
won’t worry about running out of light when
framing up incredible images.
