Bahamas & Caribbean |

Warm weather, blue skies, rainbow corals and plentiful reef fish. Top liveabooards & luxurious Caribbean resorts with white-sand beaches. Plus the extreme excite of diving with Tiger Sharks at Tiger Beach in the Bahamas !
|
|
If you're looking for a
quick getaway and want to bathe yourself in the
clear, warm waters of the ever-captivating
Caribbean, you can still find the colorful
corals and reef fish that the Caribbean is so well
known for.
It's my personal
opinion that the best diving in the Caribbean can
only be done from a liveaboard. Yes you can
reach some of the more remote sites from land
resorts, but those sites are usually, at the very
least, a 1.5 hour boat-ride from shore. AND,
you have to schlep all your gear with you . . . to
and from your hotel, in and out of the boat . . .
But diving from a liveaboard is a real vacation!
And just
recently a new liveaboard, sailing from Cozumel, has
joined the select group of Caribbean liveaboards
which we recommend, carrying you to some
unique and rarely visited diving sites. Read
on for more info about the new
SY Moondiver
along with my other favorites.
Should you be looking for something on the more extreme side, you may be amazed to learn that you don’t have to go half way round the world to dive with
Tiger Sharks &
other enormous predators!
Tiger
Beach in the
Bahamas is amongst the world’s top venues for
Tiger Shark encounters, & you may even run into renowned shark photographer,
Wolfgang Leander,
free diving with them.
Please don't hesitate to
contact me with any questions or to book a trip.
Cheers, Dom |

Overview |
In
general, Caribbean diving is about fabulous corals and brightly
colored fish, but you may not be aware of everything that the
Caribbean has to offer.
You can find wall dives& drift dives, channels & canyons, tunnels &
caves; there are string rays & eagle rays, octopus & squid; you can
see nurse sharks & reef sharks - even whale sharks & bull sharks;
and I'm sure your know that the Caribbean offers some fascinating
wreck diving.
All in all, in spite of its reputation as a superb spot for debutant
divers, this region also offers experienced divers some challenges
and excitement. |

Bahamas - Exuma Cays & Sea Park |
|
E mbarking
in Nassau, with its easy access to numerous
airlines, the
NEW Carib Dancer
will
cruise through the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park
in the remote and lovely dive spots of the
Bahamas and her Out Islands.
With more than 350 small islands and
cays, The Exumas offer the crystal-clear
tropical waters you picture as classic Caribbean
with diving in deep cuts between
the cays and constantly shifting sand bars.
Waters are
thick with coral reefs that are alive with
everything from angelfish and butterfly fish –
to the big guys like grouper and
barracuda – right down to the tiniest living invertebrates.
And you have not only the warm, turquoise,
crystal-clear waters but you have and drop-offs close to
shore, mysterious blue holes and caverns, ship
wrecks, vibrant living reefs and soaring
wall dives.
There are plenty of choices for both novice and experienced divers.

Belize
|
|
The
Belize Aggressor III
departs from Belize City to carry you to
Turneffe and Lighthouse Reefs. You'll
dive sheer walls, such as Painted Wall, Half
Moon Caye Wall and Quebrada which are
covered with huge crimson gorgonians and
wandering, lilac rope sponges.
The beautiful corals are augmented by
sightings of
dolphins on the wall at Half Moon Cay. And
Caribbean Reef sharks are common visitors at
Silver Caves. Plus you'll see plenty
of octopus, squid and colorful reef
fish.
Weather permitting, divers explore the
mystical Blue Hole, a collapsed freshwater
cave system.
With all dives from the mother ship, diving
is unlimited. Diving begins Sunday morning
and ends Friday before lunch when the
Aggressor returns to port. Check-out is
Saturday morning.
A trip to this Central American paradise
isn’t complete without a visit to Belize’s
Mayan ruins or a cave tubing ride through
the jungle. The trip will give you an
opportunity for a land tour on Friday
afternoon, but an extended stay is
recommended to fully enjoy the wonders of
Belize. |

Cayman
Islands
|
|
Our liveaboard of preference for this
Caribbean destination is the lovely
Cayman Aggressor IV.
Excellent visibility and calm, crystal clear
warm water has made the Cayman Islands a
scuba diving favorite for decades. Every
week,
Cayman Aggressor IV divers explore the
walls and ship wrecks of Grand Cayman, and
weather permitting, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac.
Cayman vacations begin at the George Town
Dock Saturday afternoon. The dive deck is
open Sunday morning through noon Friday.
After the Friday afternoon cocktail party,
guests may dine at a local restaurant.
Check-out diving is Saturday morning.
Eagle Ray Rock for the afternoon session is
a great way to introduce the deeper side of
what the Cayman Islands have to offer.
Coral towers slope downward with the sand
into the abyss with plenty of swim throughs
and channels harboring big grouper under
ledges being cleaned by gobies and shrimp.
Other locations will bring you jacks,
turtles, tarpons, Queen & French Angelfish,
plus stingrays, morays and the mysterious
catacombs and pinnacles of Pedro’s Castle.

|
Cozumel,
Mexico
|
|
Every
week the
M/Y Moondiver
departs from Cozumel and
takes a
different route along the coast of the
Mexican Caribbean.
The choice will
depend on time of year and weather
conditions, unless a particular route has
been requested in advance.
The
boat visits the best
spots of the Caribbean, far from the
local dive sites along the
coast: Cozumel, Alacranes,
Holbox,
Chinchorro,
Puerto Morelos
and Xcalat.
The trips may include any of the following:
great drift diving, channels, tunnels,
ravines and caves;
amazing diversity of species including
black corals, big sponges, enormous bull
sharks, lobsters, turtles, groupers &
snappers, barracudas, rays, jacks and a
variety of sharks, including bull sharks.
Your cruise may include a visit to the
Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve,
near Tulum or a land visit to Mayan ruins,
if you choose.

Dominican Republic / Turks & Caicos
|
|
The luxurious
Turks and Caicos Aggressor II
offers her guests two exciting and highly disparate
aquatic adventures - the
Silver Banks itinerary and West Caicos/ French Caye.
January through March, snorkelers have the rare
opportunity to swim
with majestic humpback whales, which range
in length from 40 to 50 feet, and weigh in at 35-40
tons.
These whales are found in all the world's major
oceans, and most populations are highly migratory.
In fact, theirs is one of the longest known annual
animal migrations. They travel thousands of miles to
warm subtropical and tropical waters to calve and
mate - and you'll have the opportunity to observe
their rituals.
Whale charters depart from Puerto Plata Dominican
Republic and visit the whale population in the
Silver Bank of the Dominican Republic.
The Turks and Caicos Aggressor II also offers guests
a week of thrilling wall diving along the coasts of
Providenciales, West Caicos and French Caye.
The sheer walls of Providenciales begin at 40 feet,
plunging into the deep blue abyss and include
crevasses and ledges that are decorated with huge
orange Elephant Ear sponges, Gorgonians and Crimson
Rope Sponges. The itinerary April through December
departs from Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands.
In addition to the magnificent corals, you'll see
Caribbean Reef and Nurse Sharks, barracudas, Eagle
Rays, lobsters, crabs, turtles, eels and an
abundance of colorful Caribbean reef fish.

Utila, Honduras
|
|
The
Utila Aggressor II
offers seven-day cruises departing from
Utila, Honduras.
Divers aboard the 18-passenger
Utila
Aggressor II
will explore the sheer walls
and wrecks surrounding Utila as well as
offshore sea mounts. These pristine sea
mounts, or banks, are a Caribbean frontier
that has yet to be explored fully by divers.
Utila is world-famous for whale sharks and
divers may have the opportunity to swim with
them during certain periods of the year.
But these cruises offer much more: slender
file fish, juvenile file fish, spotted
morays, toadfish, soft corals, scorpion
fish, burr fish, turtles, spotted moray,
lion fish, octopus, and lots more. |
