SIREN FLEET NEWS

Rebreather Training
on Siren Yachts

The first luxury liveaboard fleet
to provide the latest courses available from PADI;
the Rebreather and Advanced Rebreather Diver

These courses will be taught on board using the
Poseidon Discovery MKVI.

These rebreathers are the World's first fully closed & fully automated rebreather units. Now you can join the rebreather revolution and experience the world class diving in a different light.

Course prices start from 550 Euros

PADI Rebreather Diver on Poseidon Discovery MKVI

This beginner rebreather diver course allows divers, already certified as PADI Open Water, to train on a fully closed circuit rebreather. The course consists of 2 "confined water" sessions followed by 4 "open water" dives to a maximum depth of 18m / 60ft. The instructors will show you how to run through the appropriate pre-dive tests that ensure your equipment is fully functional prior to diving. "Confined water" sessions allow you to become orientated with the unit, practice basic skills and emergency procedures that you would have learned during your recreational diver training - but this time using the rebreather! During the "open water" sessions emphasis is placed on skills that will enable the diver to be fully independent from their instructor. The beginner course runs through emergency procedures and buoyancy control developing different techniques than you would have learned for an open circuit system.  PADI Rebreather Diver course runs over 3 days and includes all equipment rental, course materials and certification card.

PADI Advanced Rebreather Diver on Poseidon Discovery MKVI

The advanced course allows divers, upon course completion, to dive to 30m /100ft or you may combine with the PADI Deep Diver Speciality and increase your max depth to 40m/130ft. The course consists of 1 "confined water" skills training session, followed by 4 "open water" dives and a final examination.  PADI Advanced Rebreather Diver course runs over 3 days, includes all equipment rental, course materials & certification.

PADI Rebreather Diver & Advanced Rebreather Diver Combo
Save yourself time and money by taking the combination course during your 10-night liveaboard diving safari. Theory and skill sessions for both Rebreather Diver and Advanced Rebreather Diver can be combined over a 4-day course consisting of theory and practical set up, shallow "confined water" skill sessions and a total of 8 "open water" dives to a maximum depth of 30m / 100ft.

Poseidon Discovery MKVI Dive Course Prerequisites

Divers must be certified to a minimum of Open Water Diver & Enriched Air Diver with 25 logged dives to commence the PADI Rebreather Diver Course and have at least 30 logged dives to commence the PADI Advanced Rebreather course. Students must be aged 18 or over.

As with all PADI dive courses, your instructor will undergo thorough training from a PADI Course Director prior to conducting the course with you. The courses are unit specific and the training conducted is only appropriate for the Poseidon Discovery MKVI. Upgrades and cross-over courses from alternate training agencies / units are also available on board each of the Siren yachts.

Shark Angels

Siren Fleet Liveaboard Diving to Protect the Sharks

Join Siren Fleet as she teams up with the NGO Shark Angels to bring you shark conservation trips in South East Asia. Each year Siren Fleet will be offering a Shark Angels sponsored trip to shark hotspots across the Indian and Pacific Oceans. These trips will allow our guests to participate in shark conservation by noting the numbers and species of sharks sighted in the area. Our research will be provided to a team of local scientists to push for stronger enforcement and further martine sanctuaries

Tubbataha - Philippines

The off-shore reefs of Tubbataha National Park may only be visited between February and June of each year due to their distant location in the Sulu Sea and trips so far had been limited to just a few sailings per year. However, due to popular demand the SY Philippine Siren itineraries have been adjusted to bring you more sailings to Tubbataha in 2012.  There will be 5 trips of 6 night duration which will depart from and return to Puerto Princessa, Palawan.

The National Park boasts steep reef walls and sea-grass covered sandy slopes that attract a wide variety of marine life. Hammerhead sharks, at least 4 species of turtle, manta rays & whale sharks have been known visitors and the corals are in excellent condition. Schools of sweetlips, barracuda and snapper are a common sight along the reef walls whilst in shallower water there are plenty of critters.

Trips are priced at 1800 Euros per person.
