Truk Master

truk master liveaboard larger opt

The sleek & sturdy Truk Master underwent a total re-fit in 2016.  She accommodates a maximum of 16 divers, taking them to experience the wonders of the wrecks of Truk Lagoon & Bikini Atoll.

"I think the choice of this vessel for Truk Lagoon is ideal.  Totally refitted, sturdy and stable, with tech diving capacity, she offers everything a wreck diver desires."   ...   Dominick Macan

Truk Lagoon's latest star

Th steel-hulled Truk Master is the newest liveaboard to cater to Truk wreck divers.  She takes16 guests on 7 or 10-night odysseys to visit this WWII graveyard.

Comfortable living

With 3 full decks and a fly bridge, you'll finld plenty of space for relaxation and good accommodation for your dive equipment and camera preparation.

Guest cabins span the 3 decks and all are en-suite with individual air conditioning units.

On the upper deck, you can chill out in the combination lounge & bar area with its plasma screen.  Or, grab some sun - or perhaps a nap in the shaded section - on the large stern sun deck.  The bow deck is where you'll find the hot-tub.  After a punishing tech dive, it's the perfect option.  And, It's just in front of the spacious master suite.  Nice to know in case you're the lucky couple in the suite.

On the main deck, in addition to 4 cabins, you'll find the kitchen and comfortable dining room .... and to the rear a dive deck with loads of room.

And, the Captain welcomes you to join him at the fly-bridge, from where you can soak up some sun & the stunning views of the islands of Truk Lagoon.

Exploring the wrecks

Many of the wrecks lie within recreational diving depths, however the Truk Master also offers Tech diving facilities for those wishing to delve deeper in the wrecks and take a closer look at history.

The boat will moor over the deeper wrecks allowing you to descend easily down the line directly to the wreck.  Tech divers will benefit from the support of the “mother ship”, while the 2 skiffs are able to shuttle less experienced divers to the shallower sites and offer reef diving as an alternative to the wrecks.

Many of the wrecks are “Maru” or merchant vessels that had been left at anchor, some had been fortified with anti-aircraft weapons and many carried important army supplies including Zero Fighter aircraft parts, tanks, torpedo shells, trucks and road supplies.  Bottles, cooking utensils, items from everyday life and personal artifacts can be found in several of the wrecks.

Itineraries

You can choose a 7-night or 10-night itinerary.  The longer trips allow you time to experience more reef diving in addition to the wreck diving.  There are numerous channels that cut through the reefs which serve as hunting grounds for reef sharks and shooling pelagics which all add to the adventure.

In addition to Truk, the Master will offer a Bikini Atoll itinerary.  These trips will start in 2018 and will be limited to 11 divers.  See information about Bikini here .....
