Simply luxurious. That's the Pelagian. Pelagian's cruising route includes exclusive access to the diving sites in the extended Wakatobi region, in southeast Sulawesi.

A word from Dom :  "My first experience with this "lovely lady" was in the Red Sea in the early 1980's.  I've seen her through several incarnations since then - first in Aldabra Atoll ... then in Thailand ... then Komodo, which was my last voyage on her.  She's now been based at the sumptuous Wakatobi resort for several years and they've refitted her with loving care into a truly luxury yacht.  We saw her on our last visit to Wakatobi but didn't sail on her.   Still, it allows me to confirm that she still retains that special majesty she's always had. "..... Dominick Macan

Luxurious space & appointments

She's exceedingly spacious and elegant, tastefully decorated and completely air-conditioned, of course. On board this unique vessel, you'll feel as if you're vacationing in a spa resort rather than cruising on a dive liveaboard.  The Pelagian was built in Norway, designed to be an elegant world-ranging, comfortable and stable motor yacht. Over the years she has been rebuilt, upgraded and improved many times, most recently at the start of 2009.

You'll find loads of deck space.  The top deck features sun loungers at the stern and a covered area with padded seating & tables at the bow end of the boat. The main deck offers covered tables & chairs at the stern plus a large interior salon with luxurious seating & separate dining area. This deck also features the very spacious master stateroom while the remaining cabins are found on the lower deck.

You'll find loads of space for dive preparation, all your gear and your photography work. Pelagian's diving program is fully-integrated into Wakatobi's award-winning marine conservation and community development programs.

What's cooking....

Pelagian offers a Wakatobi Resort experience in all respects and that includes the dining. With an experienced on-board chef and team, the day’s culinary adventure begins with breakfast, prepared to your order and usually served on the aft deck.  When you return to Pelagian between dives a welcoming selection of hot drinks and the chef’s freshly prepared snacks will be awaiting you. Pelagian’s chef creates daily à la carte menus for lunch and dinner; a tasty selection comprising Indonesian specialties along with Western favourites. A selection of fine wines and spirits are available as well as soft drinks and juices.

Pelagian follows the seasons & the weather of the Wakatobi / Wangi-Wangi region ... and adapts to the experience and preferences of her guests.  But, the bottom line is that she stays quite close to her home port, exploring the coral-rich waters in this remote and exotic paradise.  If you plan a cruise on the Pelagian, we strongly recommend that you spend a few days at the Wakatobi Resort ... one of our planet's most enchanting experiences above and below the water line.

Your cruise logistics

Wakatobi & the Pelagian provide a direct connection between Bali’s international airport (airport code DPS) and the resort by way of a private air charter. The flights are dedicated to serving only guests of Wakatobi Resort and Pelagian Dive Yacht.  Check-in time for charter flights from Bali’s international airport is at 6:45am. Once you are checked in, you relax in a VIP airport lounge for a light breakfast before boarding the flight to the resort (around 8:00am), arriving in time for lunch.

On the last day of your Wakatobi or Pelagian vacation the charter flight will return to Bali between 2pm and 3:30pm. We do not recommend anyone to book tickets to leave Bali on the day of return from Wakatobi until after 5:30pm.

Flights to the resort generally follow a Monday and Friday schedule - depending on the time of the year. Bali is well served by numerous international airlines that provide a wide range of budgeting and scheduling options from points around the world.
