Raja Ampat Aggressor

Raja Yacht35 opt

The Raja Ampat Aggressor was a favorite with divers in Thailand for years.  Now part of the Aggressor Fleet, she is a very popular choice for Raja Ampat, the Banda Sea & more.

A word from Dom :  "I've known this sturdy, sea-worthy vessel since her launch in Thailand in 2000, where she became immensely popular with serious divers.  She was purchased by a new owner & moved to Indonesia a few years ago where she was again very successful.  Now with the Aggressor Fleet, she continues to please divers who have a taste for big, solid boats and great diving. Sturdy & invincible, she's a great choice for this region.".... Dominick Macan

AN OLD FAVORITE

After her long life as an independent liveaboard, this vessel joined the ranks of Aggressor Liveaboards and is a fine complement to the Indo Aggressor motor sailer, which dives other regions of Indonesia.   At 100 feet in length, with a 26 foot beam, the Raja Ampat Aggressor is definitely a roomy and comfortable choice for divers.  She's less elegant than some but she's a workhorse and as stable as it gets, which can be immensely appreciated when the going sometimes gets rough on certain crossings.

The large upper deck houses the wheel-house, four good-sized cabins with windows, plus a big shaded aft deck area with comfy lounging sofas & chairs. The spacious interior salon, located on the main deck, has combination dining & lounging facility, a fully equipped entertainment center & a light, airy, relaxed atmosphere. You'll also find a refreshments corner and an extensive marine life library. Behind the lounge, just next to the dive deck, is the convenient camera room.

Perhaps the most unique feature of the Raja Ampat Explorer is the "whale-deck", the lower section of the dive-deck which slopes down to the waterline allowing for optimum ease of diving and the dive-deck itself is extremely photographer-friendly.

Prepare yourself for plentiful meals. You'll have a variety of American food and local cuisine. Breakfast will offer lots of vhoice, lunches are buffet style and dinners are served at your table restaurant-style. Wine is served with dinner but due to the high duty charged on liquor, if you'd like spirits, we suggest you bring your special brand from Duty Free.   If you have any special dietary requirements, please be sure to let us know when you book

ITINERARIES

Although she's called the Raja Ampat Aggressor, this great diving vessel has 3 magical itineraries .... 7, 10 & 12 nights in the mecca of the diving world - 7 & 10-night Raja Ampat cruises12-night itineraries to Raja Ampat, Halmahera & Lembeh; and now 7-night cruises to the Derawan Islands off Kalimantan on the island of Borneo. This new Derawan itinerary takes you to the famous Celebes Sea and the Derawan archipelago with its mythical islands of Derawan, Maratua, Kakaban and Sangalaki.

VIEW AN OVERVIEW OF THE REGIONS RAJA AMPAT AGGRESSOR DIVES ..... open

Halmahera - The largest island in the Maluku chain, features sparkling clear water, loads of fish, some super drift dives, healthy, thriving coral reefs, some fascinating mangroves with intriguing critters … and fabulous volcanic landscapes. Some of the sites border on the deep blue and put you up close to grey reef sharks, eagle rays and immense shools of blue fin trevally.

Lembeh Strait - The undisputed critter capital of the world, Lembeh Strait, will WOW you with its weird & wonderful species: stonefish, sea robins, stargazers, devil fish, weedy scorpion fish, ghost pipefish rhinopias, multiple species of frogfish, flamboyant cuttlefish, blue-ringed octopus, wonderpus & mimic octopus, coconut octopus & hairy octopus and oh my, the list goes on. In addition to simply finding the creature, you’re likely to have the opportunity to observe innate bahaviors which will fascinate.

Misool - Pure beauty awaits you here. This pristine area is a protected reserve. You’ll dive amongst splendid corals, experience drift dives & swim throughs, see large schools of pelagic fish and brightly colored reef fish. There are mantas, too … and plenty of fabulous critter action for macro photographers.

Raja Ampat - Indonesia's shining underwater star, Raja Ampat has something of nearly everything a diver could want. You’ll dive channels, plateaus, walls & caves … and just plain mud, for the delight of “muck” diving. You'll swim amongst great swirls of fish and feast your eyes on sponges & corals in scintillating colors. You’ll meet up close & personal, everything from pygmy seahorses to colossal manta rays.

Triton Bay - Divers love the whale sharks who visit the fishing platforms, but the true star of this region is a profusion of speculator soft corals gardens & the schooling fish - anthias, damsel fish, fusiliers, sweetlips & snappers. With lots of nutrients in the water, photographers beware : the viz is limited at many sites. But, you’ll love the massive black coral bushes, the drift and wall dives and the opportunities for critter hunting.
