The 32-meter (104-foot) Shakti has been based in Raja Ampat since 2002, her crew & diving are simply superb. She has recently changed from scheduled trips to private charters.

A word from Dom :  "Operating year round in the Raja Ampat area Shakti offers a wealth of experience and knowledge of these waters. She's a fine vessel for a private charter offering simple yet comfortable accommodation and a terrific crew, all totally devoted to the success of your trip...."   Dominick Macan

You'll find comfortable lounging areas interior and exterior.  The ample sun deck has both covered and uncovered areas where you can relax between dives.  The interior salon / dining room has comfortable benches for hanging out inside and offers audio-visual equipment.  Meals include continental breakfast and a mix of Western & Asian cuisine for lunch & dinner.

Shakti's cabins provide for simple no-frills accommodation and she offers an excellent diving program for adventurous divers who are not luxury-oriented. With a maximum number of 10 divers, the dive-groups are never bigger than 5 and there are always 2 dive masters..

The Shakti team can offer unique diving itineraries to pristine dive sites. Diving ranges includes intensely colorful coral reefs, incredible underwater formations of limestone caves, tunnels and archways.  David Pagliari, owner and skipper of the boat as well as cruise director, also manages the diving. He draws from almost 2 decades of diving and exploring the Raja Ampat waters. His knowledge about the area; its culture, people, mystical stories and marine life is outstanding.

Generally speaking, the trips go either to Northern or Southern Raja Ampat, depending on the time of the year and the active winds during those periods. On either side of the North Monsoon (October to April) the areas around South East Misool are ideal, so some stops may include Warakaraket, Daram Islands and Pele. While on either side of the South Monsoon (April to October) the areas around North Waigeo are most suited: Alyui Bay, Wayag, and Batang Pele could be included in the itinerary. The Dampier Strait is always accessible and so most trips will enjoy: Kri Island, Batanta, Mansuar or Penemu amongst others.

Travel & cruise logistics

We will provide all travel details at time of booking and would be pleased to help you book your domestic flights in Indonesia. The Indonesian airline schedules change frequently and we advise clients that it's better to avoid internet bookings as those bookings can be difficult to change. Also, please note, the boat's scheduled departure time varies depending on current domestic airline schedules so they are not listed here. We'll inform you at time of booking and will keep you posted on changes.  The following airport will help you with general planning for your international flights.

Raja Ampat: International hub - Jakarta (CGK)

From Jakarta you will need to fly to Sorong for Raja Ampat itineraries. We like to recommend booking flights into Sorong one day in advance of the actual trip departure. This way it is guaranteed that you will be in Sorong in time to make the 9 am ferry that gets you directly to Waisai harbor from where the Shakti crew will pick you up in their tenders.

Outbound flights from Sorong must not be booked before noon of departure day.
