The world‘s finest diving

Seadoors

Seadoors is a 25-meter (82-foot) well equipped liveaboard accommodating 16 guests in 8 cabins offering exciting itineraries to the Tubbatahas, Visayas & the Sulu Sea.

A word from Dom : “A super option, especially for our French-speaking friends, but excellent value for everyone. Operating between Tubbataha reef & the Visayas, in addition to transition trips across the Sulu Sea, this very sea worthy vessel has wowed us with her all-new decor. The look is bright, warm, inviting & home-like … but most importantly, her captain and crew know these waters like few others do and you’ll be guaranteed great diving. Seadoors has my heartiest support.”….. Dominick Macan

Itineraries

The Seadoors diving itineraries are divided into three areas: Tubbataha, Visayas and Sulu Sea trips.  Tubbataha Reefs & the Visayas have distinctly different diving seasons, due to weather & seas and transition trips are offered between these two periods across the Sulu Sea.

The final itinerary is, of course, always dependent upon weather, sea conditions and where the best animal sightings are at any particular time of year

Sample itinerary information

TUBBATAHA  March – June

Tubbataha Reefs park is under the strict protection of rangers all year round to ensure that the nations doesn’t lose the spectacular reefs and marine life in this region. You can expect to see sponges nearly as large as the passing whale sharks, giant sea fans and delicate soft corals.  The coral gardens attract schooling sweetlips, bumphead parrotfish. and batfish but you’ll also dive vertiginous walls with hanging gardens filled with critters.  There will be plenty of “the big stuff” as these waters offer ample interactions with manta rays, turtles, jacks, schools of barracuda, hammerheads, tiger shark and, yes, whale sharks.

VISAYAS October to March

Comprised of several thousand islands and surrounded by nutrient-rich waters, the Visayas region is home some superb diving.  Seadoors offers a variety of itineraries.  Below you’ll find a sampling:

Southern-Visayas … Bohol To Apo Island  January –  In Bohol you’ll encounter huge schools of fish and plenty of sharks, particularly hammerheads. Widely known for encounters with pelagic fish and reef sharks, the Bohol region features barracudas, trevallies, tuna, at least one manta site, and if your itinerary includes Pamilacan, you are likely to have whales and dolphins.  At Cabilao Island, there are gigantic schools of hammerhead sharks.  Apo Island is perhaps the best protected marine sanctuary in the Philippines and here you’ll find healthy corals teeming with fish, including red-tooth trigger fish, pyramid butterfly fish, blue lined fusileers and at least 8 species of anemone fish.  Oslob  offers whale sharks.

Special Visayas Sharks … October, November, December – There are very dynamic and colorful coral gardens which produce some super shark interactions as the sharks come here to feed of a variety of life.  You’ll be treated to thresher sharks at Malapascua, the whale shark migration from November in the Surigao strait and the whale sharks at Cebu. In addition, there’s Bull Shark Reef, Kimod Shoal and its hammerheads ….  plus back tip sharks and white tip reef sharks at Sumilon Island. These are sharky, sharky dives !

Visayas-Odyssey from Malapascua to Apo Island  …. 9 nights  November, December – The itinerary of Visayas Odyssey draws a circle from Malapascua to Apo Island, passing by Bohol and Southern Leyte. Pelagics lovers will enjoy the diversity of this cruise with the thresher shark of Malapascua, the white tip reef sharks, black tip sharks and cat sharks.  You’ll explore Cabilao Island which is known for it’s untouched coral reef and it’s large underwater diversity.  Then, in southern Leyte and Cebu you’ll find whale sharks. Macro lovers will be happy hunting for pygmy seahorses, harlequin shrimps, mandarin fish, frog fish, octopus and flamboyant cuttlefish ! Some land excursions are available, also.

Malapascua-Cagayan Islands … 9 nights  November & July

Special trip from Cebu combining the best dive site from Visayas as Malapascua with thresher sharks, whale sharks, Apo Island (with its “hordes of fish” and critters … and the dive sites of Cagayan archipelago located in the Sulu Sea where you’ll find hammerhead sharks, grey reef sharks, manta rays, tiger sharks & whale sharks.

SULU SEA – March & June

The two transition trips (one in March … one in June) are breath taking explorations of Sulu sea with Tubbataha, Cagayans Islands, and Visayas.
